DYNAMAX was founded by two coaches who believed in the multiple benefits of medicine ball training for all athletes as the perfect general conditioning tool. They searched throughout the market for a ball that would be durable and withstand repeated high impact. No such ball could be found. So they designed and made a ball to satisfy their vision, initially for their own use. Other university and high school coaches saw their ball at work and requested several of different weights BUT the same size. DYNAMAX WAS BORN!! At first the company was just a cottage industry serving a small circle. Today the Dynamax medicine ball is benefiting athletes, coaches and personal trainers worldwide. It is the ball of choice for NCAA athletic programs and professional sports franchises and can be observed at work in virtually every sport, at all levels and with all ages. Dynamax Inc is a Texas corporation founded in 1985 by coaches Bruce Evans and Jim Cawley. The main objective in forming the company was to manufacture and distribute the medicine ball that they had developed and to develop other athletic training products of the same high quality. This handcrafted medicine ball is manufactured at the company headquarters located in Buda, Texas between Austin and San Antonio and distributed worldwide. The Dynamax medicine ball has become the overwhelming choice of NCAA and professional sports strength and conditioning coaches. THE PRODUCTS Medicine balls ranging in weights from 4 to 20 lb. All balls are 14" in diameter, impact absorbing and moisture resistant. The casing is sewn from 18 oz. flexible vinyl coated polyester. The standard colors are black and gray but many custom color designs are available. The casing design and construction insures that the implement remains dimensionally stable and balanced. Our trade secret and craftsmanship utilize the casing to retain the various fibrous cores under tension so that each ball regardless of weight has the friendly feel and will absorb high velocity impact. Each ball carries a warranty against stitch and lacing failure. THE PRIMARY QUESTION The success of the Dynamax medicine balls is largely responsible for the current demand for medicine balls in the fitness and conditioning market. As a result many implements labeled "medicine ball" are available. To avoid the pitfalls of selection, one should ask this primary question: Can I catch this ball when thrown at its highest velocity? If the answer is yes, you have a training tool for life. If not you need to consider Dynamax. |
